I found this in the 'Tottenham & Edmonton Weekly Herald' dated 15th December 1916: “A fire occurred in the window of a shop at No. 8, New Road, Edmonton, occupied by William George Wain, newsagent, on Friday afternoon. The plate-glass window was broken, while a number of gramophone records, electric lamps and Christmas cards were damaged.”
