I found this piece in the 'Manchester Evening News' dated 20th March 1980: “Wynd-Up Records Ltd. of Prestwich, Record Wholesalers and Distributors, require a COPY TYPIST / GENERAL OFFICE CLERK. Salary, Hours negotiable. Interview contact Miss Kaberry 061-798 0533 ext 42.”

When Wynd-Up first opened in Prestwich they had two shops next to each other; the larger sold rock and pop, and the smaller classical, jazz and easy listening.
They also had a large warehouse on Greengate Lane in the former Prestwich Co-op dairy building.

My late mum - Sue Burdaky as she was known then, worked at the Wynd Up warehouse on Greengate Lane, Prestwich, between the mid 70's and late 80's.
My late partner Alvin Kershaw also worked there at the same time, as did his two brothers, Alan and Tony and their late mum Rene. Alvin worked in the shop on Prestwich Village also.
They all recalled working there as being a great place to work, seeing many great music artists of the time coming in to sign records.
