I found this advert in the 'Eltham & District Times' dated 29th November 1912:
“E. Whomes & Sons SIDCUP & BEXLEY HEATH. A fine selection of Gramophone Records.”
... and this advert in the 10th December 1915 edition: “E. WHOMES & SONS, HIGH STREET, SIDCUP. Pianos, Player-Pianos by eminent makers. 'HIS MASTER'S VOICE' GRAMOPHONES, 'COLUMBIA' GRAMOPHONES. A Useful Gift that will provide hours of interest and pleasure in the long Winter Evenings is a GRAMOPHONE. We have some excellent examples which are inexpensive, and in the realms of Christmas Gifts few things can rival it at the price. We have a select choice of RECORDS, including those of CLARA BUTT, MELBA, TETRAZZINI, CARUSO, and all the other great artists familiar to concert goers."
... and this advert in the 'Croydon Times' dated 6th December 1963: “PIANOS 10 years' guarantee, Tuning, Repair, Exchange. WHOMES LTD., 16 Station Road, West Croydon.”
... also this advert in the 'Croydon Advertiser' dated 10th February 1967: “PIANOS 10 years' guarantee. Tuning, Repair, Exchange. WHOMES LTD., 16-18 STATION ROAD, WEST CROYDON. MUNicipal 2708.
