I found this in the 'Smethwick Telephone' dated 4th August 1928: “FIRST (as usual) IN SMETHWICK. WHITTLESEY'S 429, BEARWOOD ROAD, HAVE THE NEW “HIS MASTER'S VOICE” AUTOMATIC GRAMOPHONE. THIS WONDERFUL INSTRUMENT Plays 20 Records, ten or twelve inch, in any pre-arranged order, and stops itself at the finish, or Repeats any record as many times as required (a feature that will appeal at once to Dancers), or Plays one record only as an ordinary Gramophone. Can be controlled (starting, changing and stopping), at any distance without approaching or opening the instrument. Call and see this wonderful invention, or send for full description from above.”
