I found this piece from an advertorial on the opening of the new branch of W. H. Smith on page 14 of the 'Kensington Post' dated 4th November 1960:
“IT'S DIFFICULT TO FIND A BETTER GRAMOPHONE RECORD DEPARTMENT. 92 NOTTING HILL GATE, LONDON W.11. Ready to serve is Mr. Denis G. Potter, the branch manager. He is a cheerful west-countryman who has come from Smiths, Launceston in Cornwall, to take over the firm management of the Notting Hill Gate store. Mr. Potter has been with Smith's all his working life.”
