I found this advert in the 'Leicester Evening Mail' dated 28th August 1924:
“T. H. WATHES & Co., 86 & 88 HIGH STREET, LEICESTER, FOR WIRELESS AND ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES.”

I found this picture caption on page 12 of the 'Leicester Evening Mail' dated 27th November 1957:
“JACK HULBERT listening in comfort in one of our new 'HI-FI' LISTENING ROOMS Designed to cater for the classical enthusiast, these new 'Hi-Fi' listening rooms give you the finest audition facilities available in the city. ROCK 'N' ROLL or SYMPHONY? Every record collector to his choice - and Wathes RECORD BAR has every record collector's choice somewhere in its fantastic stock of records. The assistants seem to have memorised everything ever recorded! There's atmosphere at WATHES.”
... and this announcement in the 'Leicester Daily Mercury' dated 3rd December 1959:
“ANNOUNCING! COMPLETION OF OUR NEW HI-FI LISTENING ROOMS - THE FINEST LISTENING FACILITIES IN THE CITY AT WATHES RECORD BAR.”
