Virgin Records

There was a Virgin in Oxford before the one mentioned, it was in the Westgate Centre. I was DJ there for a while. There was also an HMV and an Our Price, this was 1987, Steve from Ride was working in the Our Price at the time. We sponsored the Jazz Festival at The Brewhouse that year, this was a time when record shops mattered. On a Saturday if I played a popular video in the shop via the TV screens I could bring the place to a standstill, this in the days before most people had access to MTV and the like. Heady days.
