Comment: ​I also had occasional trips to Virgin Records on Bold Street in Liverpool: a real treasure trove - bought a lot of LPs there! Branson's early days after releasing Tubular Bells. I think it was above a shoe shop (unless I'm confusing it with another shop).

I found this address in the 'Liverpool Echo' dated 18th December 1974:
“VIRGIN RECORDS 90 BOLD ST., LIVERPOOL.”
… and this address in the 'Liverpool Echo' dated 12th December 1975:
“Virgin Records UNIT 24, ST. JOHN'S CENTRE, LIVERPOOL.”
