I found this piece in the 'Aberdeen Evening Express' dated 11th June 1975: “VIRGIN RECORDS are going smart, and, yes, folks, it’s all happening in Aberdeen. For this week they moved from their somewhat rough-and-tumble George Street shop to smart new premises in McCombie’s Court, off Union Street.” … and this address in the 'Dundee Courier' dated 14th July 1988: “Virgin Records, Wellgate Centre, Dundee.”

Yeah was in the Wellgate until the bloody Our Price takeover in about 1990. The original Virgin was a great shop which sold tons (and I mean tons - I shrink-wrapped most of it) of vinyl. Also had a total stock of every UK distributed CD upon opening - some 350-odd titles. Famously lost an entire Bob Marley LP section (some 64 units including imports) over a weekend due to a blind spot in the security system.
