Run by John Thorpe, a long-time blues fan. Ceased trading around 1973. I would guess that it was named after blues man Robert Johnson.

In 1971 l dropped in to this store and bought quite a few singles, amongst them The Wailing Souls' Mr Coal Fire Man (brilliant) and many rare tracks. As a 19-year-old l migrated to Perth, Western Australia and within a year had a ska reggae radio show at the Western Australia Uni. Western Australia at the time (1972) was a 'reggae desert' so my fortuitous buy at this shop started Reggae Power in Paradise!
