I found this classified advert in the 'Camberley News' dated 24th April 1987: “RECORDS and CDs wanted, good prices paid for rock and new wave. The Rock Box 151B London Road, Camberley. Tel. Camberley 26628. Open Thursday to Saturday.”

The Rock Box is still going. It moved in December 2019 inside the shopping centre. Still the same telephone number :-)

Comment: Back in the mid-1980s as a hiphop fan and beat digger I used to visit this shop often as all the 1970s soul and funk would end up on the floor in £1 bins. I had some great finds back in the day whilst looking for those classic samples, lots of early JBs & Sly Stone LPs etc for a quid... not bad :)
