Comment: I remember coming along with my gran and mum to the Ibis Bookshop in the 1970s. They also sold records, mainly classical. It was a 'serious' shop, very still, not much fun for kids, obviously. But I did purchase my first records as a kid in Banstead, at Woolworths across the road!
Later I bought a compilation at the Ibis, of string instruments from the Middle East, which seemed funky at the time.
