“Teledisc” was a service run by the Hull telephone exchange. You dialled a number and could listen to the current top ten hit, which was supplied by Sydney Scarborough's record shop in Hull.
I found this in the 'Hull Daily Mail' dated 28th March 1961: “CIVIC VISIT TO PHONE EXCHANGE. Withernsea UDC last night accepted an invitation to visit Withernsea automatic telephone exchange. Mrs P. Dosdale commented that she would rather go to the Hull exchange to see how the “pop” record system worked. Recently the Council complained that the system operated by Hull Corporation Telephones Department for playing records was causing congestion in telephone booths where teenagers listened to records on the Teledisc service.”
