A display at the Tolson Museum helpfully explains that, in the 1920s and 30s, recording companies didn’t always provide covers for their records, so retailers would provide their own sleeves which promoted the shop rather than the record or artist. One such sleeve (date not visible) is on display, advertising Taylors at the above address, and stating “You are cordially invited to hear the new records in the privacy and comfort of our Audition Rooms without obligation of any kind”.
