'25 years ago Sweet Inspiration records where many a DJ bought records and CDs next to ABC Centre Bar, Morrison Street. Now only a few record shops left in Edinburgh.'
Ian MackayAll us old Sweet Inspiration DJs should get together. When my records got stolen after my car was stolen. Brian gave me ‘his collection’ to get me back out - Daniel Boone Beautiful Sunday etc.
Tony Ward& they were one of the first shops to open Sunday afternoons (1974 or before), + that typed changing window list of "classic" '45's
Fraser HamiltonAll my paper Round money was spent in Bruces record shops he also did a fanzine which listed all the punk stuff he had used to tick it off when I bought a new single or album
Paul McCabeI bought loads from there. My best was probably the 12" of 'The Power Of Love' by Frankie. It came in a gatefold sleeve with five glossy A4 pics of individual members of the band - cost £2.29!!
Rab QuiliettiThe original owner (Brian I think) did a disco on Sundays in the Rutland Hotel. These were the days when pubs were closed on Suns, only hotels opened. It was the place to be, for a wee while at least. 72/73 ish?
