I found this advert in the 'Hull Daily Mail' dated 31st March 1978: “We pay up to £1.50p for 1977 Albums. Songs and Stories 2 Low Ousegate, York 31929 (alongside the River at Ouse bridge).” ... and this advert in the 12th May 1978 edition: “CASH for Albums: £1.50 or more for LP in top 30. Send through post or visit us at Songs and Stories 2 Low Ousegate, York. Tel: 0904 31929.”

I used to hitch or get the bus from Scarborough to go to this shop. Bought a few things that changed my appreciation of music and some that remain with me to this day. First King Crimson LP and Ultravox! Systems of Romance come to mind. Great little shop for music (and books?).
