I found this advert in the 'Star Green 'un' dated 28th March 1959:
”SNELSONS - RECORDS ON CREDIT, TOP TEN only. 2/6 Weekly. See your local branch: 458-460, London Rd.; 55, Bellhouse Rd.; 6-8, Spital Hill; 15, Staniforth Rd.; 9, Market Place, Chesterfield.”
… and this in the 26th March 1960 edition:
“SNELSONS: SHOPS - SHEFFIELD, BARNSLEY, CHESTERFIELD, ROTHERHAM.”
… plus this (from a feature on Snelsons) in the 'South Yorkshire Times and Mexborough & Swinton Times' dated 30th September 1961:
“RECORD bars, with a choice of stock, ranging from up to 40,000 records, are another attraction in the Snelsons shops. The unusual feature is that records can be bought on credit by customers who start a record account with the firm.”
… and this in the 31st March 1962 edition:
“VISIT MEXBOROUGH'S NEWEST RECORD BAR. All your favourite Records now available on credit. SNELSONS, 57 HIGH STREET, MEXBOROUGH.”
… plus this in the 22nd December 1962 edition:
“SNELSONS CHRISTMAS OFFER: Brand New Records at Half Price. THREE FOR ONLY 10/- SNELSONS RECORD BAR, 57 HIGH STREET, MEXBOROUGH.”
