I found this advert in the 'Morecambe Visitor' dated 12th August 1987:
“SMYTHS RECORDS 123 Highgate, Kendal, Tel: 29595; Ash Street, Bowness, Tel: Windermere 3750 - NOW ALSO SERVING COMPACT DISCS.”
... and this in the 'Lancaster Guardian' dated 29th November 1991:
“SMYTHS RECORDS 123 HIGHGATE, KENDAL 729595. Specialist FOLK, BLUES, JAZZ, CHART, DANCE AND BACK CATALOGUE. CD's, ALBUMS, TAPES AND Ordering Service.”
