Comment: Rediffusion in Nottingham was the place I bought my first LP at the age of 17 in 1959 - it was Connie Francis Sings Rock & Roll Million Sellers. Although not a great LP it got plenty of play.
Being a gay teenager in a homophobic world, I found this basement store a special place to visit and remember listening to a reissue of Don't Smoke In Bed by Peggy Lee and returning to the centre of Nottingham clutching the EP and knowing that I was different in a straight world.

I found this advert in the 'South Notts Echo' dated 6th December 1963: “REDIFFUSION - also at Castle Rock and 13 Angel Row, Nottingham, and 6 Varney Road, Clifton.”
A-Z prev: Rediffusion (Lincoln)
A-Z next: Rediffusion (Scotland)
