Comment: A real 'old school' record shop that always looked as though it hadn't changed since the 1950s. Sold most things, except that nasty punk stuff, and specialised in Scottish heuchter-teuchter music as it was bang on the tourist trail. It had about 10 copies of What by Judy Street in its 10p deletions rack for at least two years in the late 1970s. It closed about 2006, and the premises is now occupied by The Rendezvous café. They've kept the big red record-shaped door handle, though!

Comment: The shop was previously around the corner in Bridge Street but had to move after part of the street was demolished during the late sixties. It was a great place to visit and had its own record booths where you could listen to all the new releases.

Comment: Whilst on a Glasgow schools music excursion in 1973 I bought Slade & Steelers Wheel singles at this store and still have them, happy days.

“RECORD RENDEZVOUS - For the widest possible selection, all types of records from Pop to Folk to Scottish Dance, make a date to visit the Record Rendezvous, 14a Church St., Inverness or Telephone 31219.”
... plus this in the 9th December 1974 edition:
“RECORD RENDEZVOUS and MUSICASSETTE CENTRE, 14A CHURCH STREET, INVERNESS, TEL 31219.”
