I found this advert in the 'Eastern Counties' Times' dated 11th May 1928: “We want to show you our Extensive Range of HIS MASTER'S VOICE, COLUMBIA, BRUNSWICK PRODUCTS. MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, VIOLINS, SAXOPHONES, BANJOS. DEMONSTRATIONS DAILY. Ours is the PERFECT System of Easy Payments - Make Your Own Terms. We shall be pleased to forward Monthly Lists of Gramophone Records. Please leave your Address at our Stand. Purser's Music Stores Ltd. 3, THE BROADWAY, SEVEN KINGS.” ...and this announcement in the Friday, 30th May 1930 edition: “Under Distress for SHORT OF SALE to GRAMOPHONE and misc. DEALERS. JOB STOCK BUYERS, ETC., MESSRS. RUTLEY, VINE & GURNEY Will sell by Auction, on the premises, 3 The Broadway, Seven Kings, on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5th at one o'clock. THE STOCK AND EFFECTS: 4 Cabinet Gramophones, 2 Table Gramophones, Over ?? new H.M.V. and Columbia Records, 3 Violins, ? Ukeleles, 5 Jazz Sets and numerous miscellaneous useful effects, etc. - Catalogue on premises and from Auctioneers.”
