I found this advert in the 'Lynn Advertiser' dated 1st November 1957:
“Your record, Sir! UNTOUCHED BY THE PUBLIC BEFORE SALE - YES! That's the way you buy your records at PEAK'S RECORD CENTRE. Where you can hear your choice of record, at ease in comfortable, sound-proof studios, Hi-Fi transcription players, controlled only by our expert assistants, ensures that the record you buy is in absolutely prefect condition. It has been handled with the care to give unblemished reproduction. PEAK'S FOR PARTICULAR PEOPLE.”
… and this in the 24th January 1958 edition:
“Buy your records at PEAK'S RECORD CENTRE - and why? Because: All records on sale are in immaculate condition and are guaranteed to be untouched by the public before sale. Because: You get expert and friendly service and advice in very pleasant surroundings. Because: Any record can be heard relaxing in comfortable sound-proof studios - no obligation whatever. … plus this in the 2nd June 1959 edition:
“PEAK'S RECORD CENTRE, ST. JAMES STREET, KING'S LYNN. We invite you to inspect our stock of all the LATEST RECORDS.”
… and this advert (showing that Peak's had been taken over by Court's) in the 27th August 1963 edition:
“COURT'S - COURT BROS. (Furnishers) LTD. (FORMERLY H. W. PEAK), ST. JAMES' STREET & SATURDAY MARKET PLACE, KING'S LYNN.”
