From 1978-1981 my business partner Phil De Wolfe and I owned and ran P. Nutt records High St. Cheltenham. We sold parallel imports as well as UK pressings and we would hold live over the air competitions on Saturdays. Comment:-Charlie Pollock.

“Mrs. A. Sidney of Birmingham, winner of a £5 EMI token for an LP at P. Nutt record shop, High Street, Cheltenham, said she was charged 50p extra. Said shop manager Phil: “The charge EMI makes when we redeem tokens puts us out of pocket. Therefore we cover ourselves by charging 10 per cent extra.” Record token manager, John Mew of EMI said: “Dealers are allowed to make a charge on token exchanges but when dealers do this I suggest that customers should go to a shop that will accept tokens without an extra charge.”
