I found this announcement in the 'Reading Evening Post' dated 2nd June 1980: “OUR PRICE RECORDS Opening in a super new record store in the centre of Reading.”
... and this piece in the 5th July 1980 edition:
“A PRICE war is set to explode in Reading's record shops after the opening this week of a top discount store. Our Price Records, Britain's largest chain of independent record shops, has acquired the Harlequin store in the town's Butts Centre.”
... and this piece in the 22nd November 1984 edition: “Other stores within the new part of the Kennet Centre have been leased to Harvey's Fabrics and Our Price Records.”
... and this piece in the 9th October 1992 edition: “Shake-up in town centre pop shops: The launch of the Virgin Megastore in Reading this week has already led to two town centre record stores shutting up shop. The opening of the twin-floored shop yesterday has led to a major shake-up of the town's music stores. One of three branches of Our Price Records is to close, and the Oxford Road branch of HMV will no longer stock music. Both are within yards of the Megastore.”
... and this address in the 21st November 1997 edition:
“Our Price Records. Broad Street Mall, Reading.”
