I found this in the 'Horncastle News' dated 3rd December 2003: “BRAND NEW CD's from £4.99, Quality Secondhand CD's, Records & Tapes. NEW RELEASES 60's, 70's, Jazz, Folk, Reggae and more! OFF THE BEATEN TRACKS, Louth Market. Tel. 07963 112488.” ...and this in the 'Louth Leader' dated 17th November 2004: “Owner of Louth record shop Off The Beaten Tracks, Mark Merrifield has been nominated for a customer care award. Beatles fan Mark opened the shop in March 2004. Opening a shop was a lifetime ambition for the music fan from Manchester, who now lives in Eastgate. The customer who nominated Mark said: “He gives a very personal service - he always bends over backwards to help with anything you request.”
