Here is an excerpt from a supplement, featuring Massey's Centre of Sound, in the 'Kensington Post' dated 23rd June 1967: “This supplement gives a glimpse of the wonderland that is Massey's Centre of Sound. Massey Radio, which has had an excellent name for sales and service in the district for 20 years, was started in 1947 by A. P. Aldridge, an amusement caterer from Hammersmith. It was then only 119 Chiswick High Road and had been a small radio shop trading under the name of John Massey. The business prospered and, about 1950, expanded to 117 next door. Then, in 1956, Mr. Aldridge also took over the premises at 121-123, where Sydney Crompton had had a second-hand shop. It was a very old building, so it was pulled down and rebuilt to form an extension of Massey's, featuring records and domestic appliances mainly. In 1960 the new building became Massey's Centre of Sound.”
