I found this advert in the 'Manchester Evening News' dated 18th March 1958: “LONG-PLAYING RECORDS taken in Part Exchange for NEW RECORDS. MARSHALL'S RECORD CENTRE, 69 Oxford Road, Manchester 1. Tel: ARD 6173.”
... and this advert in the 11th June 1968 edition:
“CLEARANCE SALE - GRAMOPHONE RECORDS – Thousands of BARGAINS. All Stocks Must Be Sold. MARSHALL'S Record Centre 69 OXFORD ROAD, MANCHESTER 1. Telephone ARD 6173.”

I worked for Marshall Casanove in his brand new shop under the Piccadilly Plaza Hotel around 1972.
He had recently opened a modern and extensive classical music department on the first floor where he employed a chap called Chris Cope to manage.
It was a fantastic ultra modern shop with the popular music department on the ground floor.
We were popular with many students because of our extensive collection of new and up and coming artists
