I found this in the 'Evening News (London)' dated 30th September 1971: “JUST FOR THE RECORDS. WHEN IS A JOBS agency not a jobs agency? On a Saturday, when it's a record shop, according to Mr. Reed, boss of Reed Executive, the staff-finding firm which went public earlier this year. He has now turned three of his nearly 100 branches in Croydon, Camden Town and Southend into weekend shops, trading under the name “Just Records” and hopes to convert about 20 more in the next six months. “Our branches are shut on Saturdays so there's quite a lot of shopping area floor space doing nothing at the weekend when many traders do half of their business,” Mr. Reed told me. Only branches with their offices on the ground floor are suitable for the Saturday switch, so Mr. Reed has no plans to convert all his branches. But he tells me: “Overheads are very low and the record shops are already making good profits.”
