Just Classics

I found this article in the ‘Medway News’ dated 22nd May 1998: “CLASSICAL music lovers in Maidstone are fortunate to have a shop like JUST CLASSICS on their doorstep. It has long been one of the most popular shops in The Royal Star Arcade where patrons know they can select from an astonishing array of more than 5,000 different CDs and tapes. Most people become interested in classical music through television advertising or TV theme tunes. But then there is the problem of identifying the piece of music which they like. Usually that’s no problem to the knowledgeable shop manager Graham Martin. He is quite used to people walking in slightly embarrassed and saying: ‘If I whistle or hum it can you tell me what it is?’ Proprietor, Tony Relf also has similar shops at Canterbury and Brighton and very often if Graham hasn’t got a particular CD in stock he can ring to one of the other branches and have it with the customer in 24 hours.”
