John Ham, Rowlands Music and Picton Music all sold instruments and sheet music as their first line of business, but also records and tapes. All are now gone. John Ham was the brother of Peter Ham who formed the band Badfinger, a very famous - and tragic - band of the 1960s.

Fantastic Shop, bought lots of equipment from there over the Years, always had quality service from John himself, such a nice Guy all round, always willing to offer sound advice, and if he could help you out, he certainly would. Sadly, John Ham passed away last Year, but he will always be remembered in Swansea, and that Shop will go down in local history too........

I found an address in the ‘Neath Guardian’ dated 22nd November 1984: “John Ham Sound Studio Ltd., 75-76 Mansel Street, Swansea SA1 5TW. Tel.: 50968.”

I'm not 100% certain but I don't recall John Ham selling records and tapes (other than instructional ones). It was essentially an instrument and PA shop.

I remember John. He used to tell me about his brother and the Badfinger days. Think I brought a Eko acoustic from him. Good days...
