Toomers of Newbury was an old-fashioned department store that stocked records and seemingly never returned anything to the suppliers, so someone got some bargains before they closed in the 1970s.

I found this in the 'Reading Evening Post' dated 11th September 1973: “WE HAVE A VACANCY for a Senior Assistant in our busy, well-known Record Department. Previous experience in the record trade is necessary, and some knowledge of associated trades would be an advantage. Applications in writing to: MRS THORNE, THE HOUSE OF TOOMER LTD., 2-3 Northbrook Street, Newbury.”
