Re: Horne and Thompson of Burton upon Trent

Post by Bill Kibby ยป 23 Sep 2017, 14:35

Edgar Horne was in Burton-upon-Trent in the 1880s and 1890s, and his name appears on pianos, but he was probably just one of many retailers buying in pianos from wholesalers and putting his name onto them. By 1911, they were Horne Thompson & Co. and by the thirties, they were a limited company. I am in the process of moving home and collection to Lincolnshire, so I can't refer to books and paperwork for more details at the moment.

Hello, I recently purchased a Keech Bandjolele I believe it's dated mid- to late thirties. I've been trying to look for any information on them selling the Keech Bandjolele. The serial number on the neck is A5020, it still has their transfer on the neck and inside the case cover their label is there. Thanks, Alan Atkins, Boston, Lincs.
