I found this piece in the 'Western Evening Herald' dated 20th August 1997: “OASIS mania is sweeping south as shelves are cleared for the release of the band’s long-awaited new album tomorrow. Music stores throughout the city are celebrating the launch of 'Be Here Now' with poster displays, special promotions and early openings. HMV, New George Street, is planning to open at 7 a.m. with a coffee morning and Liam Gallagher lookalike competition. The store has been playing the 13-track LP all week in the run-up to its release and is offering limited edition first day covers and exclusive Oasis magazines to early buyers. At the Virgin Megastore, Armada Way, doors will open at 7.45 a.m. When the album goes on sale at 8 a.m. the first 100 customers will be entered for a prize draw for tickets to the band’s sell-out concerts at Exeter’s Westpoint Arena on September 13 and 14.”
