I found this advert in the 'Clifton & Redland Free Press' dated 31st May 1923: “A new pianoforte showroom has just been opened at 58 Brigstocke Road, City Road, by the well-known Bristol piano dealer, tuner and repairer, Harold C. George. During many years of experience at Messrs. Milsom & Son, Ltd., Park Street, Mr. George came in contact with various makes of good-class pianos, and he always had the desire to open a shop of his own, with a stock of first-class instruments. The war came along and stopped his idea for the time being, but as soon as he was released from the Army in 1919, Mr. George re-started his business at Argyle Road. Business improved and more room was required, so the shop premises at 58 Brigstocke Road were bought, and recently opened with a fine stock of pianos.”
...and this in the 'South Bristol Free Press” dated 2nd June 1923: “A B. SQUIRE PIANO is an instrument to be proud of. If you buy one you will swear by it, and not at it. BRISTOL AGENT: HAROLD C. GEORGE, 58 Brigstocke Road, City Road, Bristol.”
