After leaving school at the tender age of fifteen, I got my first job at Guilford Radio and television on 16th August 1971.

I found this promotion piece in the 'Surrey Advertiser' dated 10th March 1954:
“During the showing of “The Glenn Miller Story” at the Odeon, Guildford, from 15th-20th March, a Representative of the Guildford Radio and Television Co. will be in the foyer of the Theatre and will give a Voucher to two fortunate patrons each evening. These VOUCHERS may be exchanged FREE OF CHARGE for a recording of one of the many hit tunes from the film. GUILDFORD RADIO AND TELEVISION CO., 24 NORTH STREET, GUILDFORD. Telephone: Guildford 3615.”
