I found this picture caption in the 'Leighton Buzzard Observer' dated 26th October 1999:
“HOW many older readers recognise faces in this group picture, taken outside Griffin Bros. electrical shop in Leighton High Street in the early 1960s? The premises had recently been enlarged, expanding from what is now the fabric shop into today's Oxfam shop, and the business was opened by celebrated pianist of the day - Russ Conway. Griffin Bros actually started in a shop in North Street in 1926 - where they used to charge up wireless accumulators - and moved to 11 High Street a few years later. This photo shows the staff and their families about to go on a coach trip to the London Palladium and then on to a slap up meal, and as well as the shop and office staff it includes electricians and apprentices from the electrical contracting side of the business.”
