I found this piece in the 'Kinematograph Weekly' dated 13th November 1952:“... workers were invited to enter a 'Can You Sing Like Bing' contest and the entrant giving the best impersonation of the star's style of singing was to be the guest of the Gaumont, Stratford. Quad arts with tie-up stills of the stars were used in the theatre's show window and in a display at Laurie's, of Angel Lane, Stratford. These gave competition details, inviting entrants to name the six best-selling Bing Crosby records of recent years.”...and this advert in the 'Evening News (London)' dated 9th April, 23rd July 1962 and 25th March 1963:“GRAMOPHONE RECORDS - LAURIE'S 57 Angel Lane, Stratford, E.15. MARyland 4382.”...and this report in the Friday, 11th June 1965 edition:“Smash-and-grab thieves escaped with about £500 worth of records, mostly “pops”, from a shop in Angel Lane, Stratford, to-day.” Dave (2025)
