I found this in the 'Croydon Express' dated 16th August 1902 and 18th July 1903: “H. A. Gaydon, 22, Park Street, Croydon. Repairs to talking machines.”
...and this in 'Talking Machine News' dated 1st August 1904:
“Records for sale, every one new. Edison, Columbia, Pathe, 1/9 each, or offer for lot; names on application.—GAYDON, Park Street, Croydon.”
...and this in the 1st April 1905 edition:
“Re: H. A. GAYDON, CROYDON. A meeting of the creditors of the above was held at Messrs. Edridge & Newnham's Offices, Coleman Street, E.C. The debtor stated that he commenced business in partnership with his father at Croydon eight years ago. After a year's trading they dissolved their partnership. He then continued the business and up to October, 1904, he had considered himself solvent. His debts amounted to £760, consisting of trade debts £440, and money borrowed £320.”
