Christopher Foss Records

(August 14. 2015) They were operating from 1960 to 1984, mail order and retail. The shop was next to the Beatles Shop on Baker Street. Foss also issued the booklet of every 45rpm record release - quarterly with an annual issue. These were absolutely essential for every record shop as company catalogues were always outdated and Foss printed the catalogue number so ordering was easy. Comment: Mike Goddard

I found an advert in the ‘Marylebone Mercury’ dated 27th September 1968:
“Buy your records from St Marylebone's finest record shop. Keen, experienced staff will help you select the records of your choice. We stock a fabulous range of classical, popular, jazz and imports and a wide variety of accessories. CHRISTOPHER FOSS 34a Paddington Street, W1 (next to Baker Street) Tel: Welbeck 6156.”
