May 12, 2020 ·At the top end of Railton Road close to Herne Hill station and railway bridge there was a record shop I don't recall the name of. These two were the first albums I ever bought with my Saturday job wage from Rays TV and Radio shop just across the road; it was 1972. Anyone recall the name of that shop? What did you get and still have from there?
Jenny GarrettIt was called FJ Graham - used to go in there every week and spend my pocket money
Ann-Marie GallagherI bought War of the Worlds from the Herne Hill shop in 1978.

Comment: In the early to mid-1960s Graham's always had a box of Blues and R&B 45s. This in quiet Herne Hill. The box was always being replenished; Chuck and Bo, Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester, Muddy... As a young mod I just had to go and browse, listen, and, if I had the cash, buy (it was on the way home from school). It was the only local 'generic' record store I knew which sold stuff like that. Mr Graham was always happy to play stuff for me, bliss. Looking back on it I guess he was a jazz fan and just understood!
