Easy Listening in Acocks Green for me!

The next few days followed a similar pattern. I’d go downstairs, pour myself a bowl of Frosties, watch TV, mooch down the road to Acocks Green and stare at the records in Easy Listening, Preedy’s and Woolworths, keeping a running total of what I could afford and what I might buy next. With each new single, Roxy Music were starting to seem more and more important. I spent a fair fraction of the 1980s in this Acocks Green shop when it was Easy Listening Records. I still fantasise that in a box room upstairs there might still be an unopened box of their signature Caramac-coloured carrier bags. I must have thrown hundreds away over the years.
