I found this address in the 'Hounslow & Chiswick Informer' dated 12th July 1979:
“Reviews supplied by EARTHSHAKER RECORDS 36 Heath Road, Twickenham.”
... and this piece in the 4th March 1983 edition:
“Special equipment is required to play the Compact Disc and PolyGram, the company pioneering this technological revolution, have associated with Philips, Sony, Hitachi and Marantz to produce the Digital Audio System. This system has no stylus because the sound is picked up by a concentrated laser beam which projects on to the disc and reads the signal from it. The reproduction is true to the original performance with no surface noise from scratches or dust discernible. Additionally the lack of stylus eliminates danger of damage to the disc so the listener receives up to 60 minutes of uninterrupted, near to perfect sound. After setting up their £50 million pressing plant in West Germany. PolyGram selected outlets for the complete range of Compact Discs initially on the market. Earthshaker Records of King Street, Twickenham is one of these dealers and now stocks around 150 Compact Discs by popular and classical artists.”

I knew Steve well over 30 years ago through his shops in Twickenham, after that he had a small shop in Richmond from which I still purchased my CDs, mainly artists on the GRP label. Steve I believe was the first shop in the UK to stock CDs and using a Sony CDP 103 Player plus speakers. Also after that I believe he started another company called The Music Tree after Earthshaker. Another thing is when Steve had the first Earthshaker the group Go West used to practice in the back of the shop. I lost contact with Steve when I moved to Somerset.
