Diamond Duel Records was a shop on Stoneleigh Broadway, four miles from Epsom, in Surrey, England. Between the ages of 2 and 18 I lived approximately 200 yards aw
ay. They carried a superb selection of brand new releases, especially most of the hot imports, concentrating mostly on dance soul boogie funk house and all things club based.

The shop traded from around 1981 until the mid 90's, prior to that being another record shop Crescendo, which primarily stocked the worst current pop chart rubbish it could find. However on occasions an interesting obscurity would turn up in the racks, as I remember buying one of my first ever records there back in 1978, the superb Tubeway Army - Bombers E.P Comment: Martin Safe Sounds
