Name: J.R.Mullett
Comment: Dave's stall in the Indoor Market is, to the best of my knowledge, still going. It sold second hand LPs for £2.50 and 7"s for 50p. Most of my collection was from here and my pocket money going the other way.

Richard Ashby Dave and Chris Radfprd. Dave played in a band called Kizz I believe. Great family, they lived across the road from us in Canterbury. They had a son Damien not far off our age, and two older girls Monique and Michelle. In the small world it is Monique lives close to my Mum and Dad now I think. He used to pop records over when a few gems come in! They were always worth a visit while down that end of town!

Adam Barham the band Dave was in was Gizmo

Loved Dave. Top man. I still have his old Schweppes crate with singles in. I bought 20 of them off him for £2.50 each. Same price as his LPs. All singles 50p

Legendary ....the indoor emporium if delight ...my youth would be enriched by a train journey from the then not so chic Margate ...wondering past the imposing but magnificent medieval Westgate tower & gardens and approach the high street. Before too long and past a few good charity shops you would be by the entrance to the indoor market in the left with badges paraphernalia a wonderful hippy clothes and incense stall further inside but mainly awaiting your eyes ears and perusing thru Dave s treasure trove of prog and classic rock gems bargains and oddities! He was informative charming and friendly....Not only the vinyl and CDs but posters and flyers introducing you to the almost secret world of an alternative Canterbury music scene and more . Glorious ...walking past these days still brings fond and grateful memories ....

I found this piece in the 'Kentish Gazette' dated 5th June 1987: “THOUGHT you had heard the last of the Mods? How wrong can you get! They're still here, smarter and tighter than ever - as Kent's top Mod fanzine 'Smarter Than U' proves. Issue Two landed on the desk with reviews of favourite Mod bands: Who's Blues Band, The Jetset, Floyd Lloyd and the Potato 5 and oldies, but still goldies, Edwin Starr, Desmond Dekker and Geno Washington. A very smart little number, 'Smarter Than U'. Get it at Indoor Market, Canterbury; Gatefield Sounds, Herne Bay, and Diamond Records, Ramsgate.”
