The first records I recall buying were from Saville's of Bruce Grove & Dancys of Fore St Edmonton Johnny Mathis Chances AreSister Rossetta Tharpe When The Saints Come Marching In Ray Bush and The Avon Cities Skiffle Band This Little Light Of Mine This was about the mid Fifties. Cheers: John Lake.

( Feb 16, 2016) "Save Me" was the first record I ever bought when I was 8. It was 6 shillings and 8 pence - my sister and I spilt the cost 50/50. From Dancy's Records in Fore Street. I didn't realise they'd been in Silver Street - guess they must've moved from/to Fore Street ? Can't picture the shop at 7 The Broadway N9 - Edmonton Green ? Comment: Graham Goodall.

I bought all my records from there in the 70s. The place was like heaven to me back then....

They had at least 2 stores at one point The one on Fore Street was next to a Tandy's just up from Tesco's on the corner of the parade. The one in Edmonton Green was just off the market square opposite The Exhinition pub. Not sure, but they may have had a shop at Palmers Green at one point as well.
