Comment: Cramer & Lea was my great-grandfather’s shop - he was the Lea half of the partnership. He had a music emporium in Church Street in the late 1800s/early 1900s as well as a car showroom in Berry Street. My grandfather worked at the Bold Street shop until it closed in the 1960s when he joined Rushworths where he sold musical instruments.

I found this piece in the 'Liverpool Echo' dated 7th April 1948: “JOE LOSS WILL PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPH YOUR CHOSEN JOE LOSS RECORDS AT CRAMER & LEA, 77 BOLD ST., LIVERPOOL, TO-MORROW (Thurs.) at 3 p.m.”
... and this in the 18th February 1953 edition:
“GRAMOPHONE RECORD LOVERS - CRAMER & LEA invite you to a GRAMOPHONE RECORD RECITAL of Long Playing and Standard Records at the His Master's Voice Demonstration TO-MORROW, THURSDAY at 2.30 p.m. ADMISSION FREE. 77 BOLD STREET, LIVERPOOL.”
