I found this piece in the 'Kensington Post' dated 6th November 1970: “Pop music has once again become the music which is most popular with the record buying public, whether it prefers a Gracie Fields revival number or the overt sexuality of the Rolling Stones. As Mr. Crompton, Manager of the Chiswick Music Salon which stocks a huge selection of pop and classical records, is keen to point out: “However long you've been in the record business you can't really predict.”
... and this advert in the 'Acton Gazette' dated 2nd November 1972:
“EVERYTHING ON RECORD AND CASSETTE & CARTRIDGE TAPES. COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF OUR NEWLY EXTENDED SELECTION. THE CHISWICK MUSIC SALON, TURNHAM GREEN TERRACE W.4. 01-994 8012.”
... and this in the 'Hammersmith & Shepherds Bush Gazette' dated 18th December 1975:
“THE CHISWICK MUSIC SALON - A VAST SELECTION OF RECORDS & CASSETTES. SOLVE GIFT PROBLEMS WITH OUR RECORD & CASSETTE TOKENS. TURNHAM GREEN TERRACE, W.4. TEL. 01-994 8012.”
... plus this full address in the 21st December 1978 edition: “Merry Christmas to all our customers from CHISWICK MUSIC SALON, 1 Gable House, Turnham Green Terrace. W.4. 01-994 8012.”
