I found this notice in the 'Manchester Daily Post' dated 1st February 1966:
“TAPE, WIRE AND DISC recordings may be posted from Britain to many other countries from today by a new service called Phonopost.”
... and this advert in the 'Aberdeen Press & Journal' dated 1st June 1968:
“PHONOPOST MAIL-ORDER SERVICE FOR RECORD BUYERS. The simplest way to build your Record Collection is Mail Order. WE ARE SPECIALISTS. Write for details or send your order to: CENTRAL RECORDS (PHONOPOST), 10 MANCHESTER OLD ROAD, MIDDLETON, MANCHESTER.”
... plus this advert in the 'Middleton Guardian' dated 30th November 1973:
“CENTRAL RECORDS, ARNDALE CENTRE (BALCONY). Telephone: 061-643 0429. THE FINEST CHOICE FOR GIFTS OF Records, Cassettes and 8-Track Cartridges.”
