Comment: Carnival was my number one shop for buying punk in 1977/78. Was run by a lovely lady, blonde, probably in her late 30s - heard she passed. She used to stock a lot of mainstream rock, but had these two boxes of punk and new wave singles on the counter. I bought Shot By Both Sides there, Holidays in the Sun, loads of others. And if she didn't stock it, she'd order it. Great place to spend a boring Saturday afternoon.

Comment: I remember Carnival records... used to go in there every payday to talk to a lad in red trousers, that I thought looked like David Sylvian.
