I found this notice in the 'West Lothian Courier' dated 3rd August 1979:
“BUDGIES RECORD SHOP - NOW OPEN! - 82 NORTH BRIDGE STREET, BATHGATE. Tel. 53411.”
... and this piece in the 24th April 1981 edition:
“At Budgie’s record shop the visits of live bands, which have included Twisted Nerve and Positive Noise, have proved very popular and the shop has been packed out with interested fans. Heather Barr, from Budgie’s, has been down in London promoting Glasgow band Factory Poems. She met John Peel and confirms that BBC tea is as bad as the DJ’s say!”
